OPEK : Live at Kingfly!

Led by Ben Opie, OPEK is a reduced sized big band that features some of Pittsburgh's most vibrant and exciting creative musicians.

OPEK started as an opportunity to perform the music of visionary bandleader Sun Ra.

Its repertoire has expanded to include Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus, monster movie soundtracks, original works, and all points in between.

OPEK performances are lively, engaging, and most of all, fun! Most of their long-standing lineup will be there with a few additional guests. You won’t want to miss out on this one!

Ian Gordon: trumpet

Reggie Watkins: trombone

John Purse: guitar

David Throckmorton: drums

George C. Jones: congas, percussion

We’ll start checking guests in at 7pm, if you’d like to join us early, grab a cocktail and find your seat before the show starts at 8pm.

This event will take place in Kingfly's spacious, 5,000 square foot Loft. Tickets are $20 and seating is First Come.
