OPAL Small Sites Huddle: London

Whether you have a 20 pupil school or a 900 pupil school, if the whole school can't fit in your playground with room for all the children to swing a stuffed shark around their heads, then this day is for you.

The exact agenda and speakers will be announced in September but expect ideas and inspiration from schools across the South and beyond, all with one thing in comon.

The playgrounds are cosy - but full of glorious play.

Think storage, sand and swinging sharks!

These schools are co-located in a very modern building, with brand new state-of-the-art facilities and lovely airy classrooms.

And an absolutely tiny, awkward playground.

Both schools are just over halfway through their OPAL Primary Programmes, and whilst they have done wonders (their scooter track and sandpits are fantastic!) and seen all the usual OPAL benefits (fewer accidents, better communication skills, etc. etc), they are not (yet) a Platinum Showcase school.

They, like many of you, are on their journey and would love to hear your ideas and solutions.

We are very grateful to them for offering to host this Small School's Huddle.

The school is just a 15-minute walk from King's Cross St Pancras Station, so it has excellent transport links, though nearby parking is extremely limited.

The school is however fully accessible so if you have mobilty issues please let us know.

Tea and coffee will be provided. There are lots of good cafes and food outlets nearby.

Please dress appropriately; we will be outside at play time whatever the weather.
