Presented by The Office of Student & Alumni EngagementLooking to sharpen your writing skills and make your voice heard on issues you care about? Join Thom Blaylock, Clinical Professor of Public Service, and Terri Gerstein, Director of the NYU Wagner Labor Initiative, for an interactive writing workshop designed to help you transform complex ideas into compelling, persuasive pieces.
Modeled after a popular class at NYU Wagner, this workshop will guide you through the fundamentals of effective op-ed writing—developing a strong argument, supporting it with evidence, and tailoring your message for the right audience. Blaylock, an expert in writing instruction and editorial strategy, will provide insights into structuring impactful narratives, while Gerstein, a nationally published writer and expert in labor and workers' rights, will share strategies for using op-eds as powerful advocacy tools. Whether you're an alum or a current student, this workshop will equip you with practical tools to refine your writing and amplify your message. Refreshments will be provided. Space is limited—sign up early to secure your spot!
This event is for NYU Wagner students, alumni, and staff only. Attendees must register with an NYU address.
