ONU Class 81 Graduation

Join us for a special celebration honoring the Servicemembers and Veterans of Operation New Uniform's (ONU) Career Readiness Program, Class 81!
This ceremony will feature guest speaker Retired Marine Corps Major General James S. "Hammer" Hartsell. Appointed as Executive Director of the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs in 2021, General Hartsell leads one of the nation's largest state veterans agencies, serving more than 1.4 million Florida veterans through statewide outreach and a network of State Veterans' Homes. He also served as President of the National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs in 2023.
General Hartsell served 37 years in the United States Marine Corps, beginning as an enlisted Marine in 1981 and retiring as a Major General after a distinguished career that included deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan and leadership of the 4th Marine Division. Following his military service, he brought his leadership experience to the healthcare industry before returning to public service, where he continues to advocate for Florida's veteran community with passion and purpose.
