Join us for a special celebration honoring the Servicemembers and Veterans of Operation New Uniform's (ONU) Career Readiness Program, Class 73! This milestone event will feature Wounded Warrior Project Chief Executive Officer, Walt Piatt, as our distinguished guest speaker.
Walt Piatt serves as chief executive officer of Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), where he leads daily operations and guides the organization’s strategic vision to ensure its free programs and services have the greatest possible impact on warriors, caregivers, and families. A veteran with 42 years of military service, Piatt joined WWP after serving as Director of the Army Staff and completing a distinguished Army career that began with an infantry enlistment in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions before commissioning as an officer in 1987. Rising from private to three-star general, he held key leadership roles including Commanding General of the 10th Mountain Division, Deputy Commanding General of U.S. Army Europe, and commander of the Joint Multinational Training Command in Germany, earning four Army Distinguished Service Medals and five Bronze Stars. He is also the author of two poetry collections inspired by his service in Afghanistan and helped pioneer mindfulness programs in the military. Piatt holds advanced degrees in military history and military science, completed a fellowship at Georgetown University, received an honorary doctorate from Lock Haven University, and resides in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife and family.
