About this Event

To attend the Childbirth Education two-part program with a Chinese interpreter and midwife:

• you must speak Chinese & be birthing at RWH (Victoria) as a public patient

This series is conducted in a group over two Thursday mornings from 10-12:00pm at the hospital

These are topics that may be covered:

Week One

• When to call the hospital

• How labour works

• Things you can do to promote your labour

Week Two

• Pain Relief options

• Breastfeeding

Booking tips:

· Places are limited and programs fill quickly so don't delay to book your ticket.

· Aim to complete your education by 38 weeks of pregnancy

· Use the name of the pregnant person when you book. Each ticket includes the pregnant person and their partner or support person

· You must provide your Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne Medical Record Number to book. We will check you are booked to have your baby at the Women’s.

· A confirmation email will be sent by Eventbrite after booking.

Payments and Refunds

Each family is eligible for ONE ticket only.

Medicare Card Ticket - Free when the pregnant person:

is booked to birth as a public patient at the Women’s hospital, Victoria

has a valid Medicare card (or eligible for reciprocal rights)

Ineligible for Medicare Card Ticket - $250.00 when the person:

is booked to birth as an ineligible for Medicare patient at the Women’s hospital, Victoria

The fee is refundable if you cancel at least one week prior to the first class. Some private health funds may provide a rebate for the program; however, it is up to the participant to check with their own health fund.

Need to cancel or reschedule?

· If you need to reschedule, please CANCEL your booking on the Eventbrite website, and then rebook into another course. PLEASE remember to cancel to allow somebody else to take your spot.

· If you can’t make it to one of your booked sessions, we are unable to offer a “make-up” session for the one you missed. Written summaries are provided for the program.
