Only Child’s Annual With Strings Show

Rob Gough Promotions is proud to announce a very special musical event featuring the very talented Only Child that will take place on Thursday 27th July 2023 at Tate Liverpool’s Café.

This show will be Only Child’s annual ‘with strings’ event that has previously played to packed houses across the region and singer/songwriter Alan O'Hare says "he can't wait to bring the band to Tate Liverpool" this summer.

Only Child have released four acclaimed albums, one decade-celebrating compilation vinyl LP, a live album recorded with a string quartet and three EPs since 2012.

They make emotional music and have headlined Liverpool's The Music Room, Leaf on Bold Street, 81 Renshaw, The Zanzibar Club, The Magnet and Thornton Hough Village Club in Wirral, alongside high profile support slots with Blue Rose Code, Pete Wylie, Gemma Hayes, Ian Prowse & Amsterdam, Steve Pilgrim, My Darling Clementine and Mick Flannery.

Alongside Only Child we will have two special guest appearances which will include Thom Morecroft and another musician that we will be announcing shortly, plus a DJ that will be mixing tracks during the event.

THOM MORECROFT

Pieced together somewhere between the hills of Shropshire and the river Mersey, Thom Morecroft is a Singer-Songwriter with more songs about friends than he has actual friends, currently based in the flight path of Liverpool John Lennon airport. His sound is a marriage of thick layered acoustic guitars, folk-pop harmonies and 90s alt-rock songwriting.

Described by founding editor of Mojo & Word Paul Du Noyer as “charming and addictive” and BBC Introducing’s Tom Robinson as “leaving you reaching for the replay button”, Thom’s live performances are typified by confessional music and stream-of-consciousness interactions with his audience. He will be releasing new music soon and touring in 2023.
