**NOTE: This course has live online components and optional in-person field trips.**
Through classroom, field trip, and practical experience, this course has been established to help participants understand how invasive plants impact Florida’s natural areas and the roles we can play to help mitigate their impacts. Whether you are a concerned citizen, owner/manager of property, or educator, the information provided in this course will provide you with valuable knowledge about invasive plants, the threats they pose to native biodiversity and ecosystem function, and information to share with others to help stop the spread of invasive plants in Florida’s natural areas.

Activity 2: Personal Invasive Plant Inventory (45 min): Students will search in a small area for invasive plant species; investigate species origins; document and enter sightings into IveGot1/EDDMaps
Activity 3: The Natural History and Morphology of Invasive Plants (75 min) -
Field Experience and Hands-On: Observe the growth and behavior of plants, document and label plant morphology using terms discussed in class and answer questions. Research on websites to investigate species ID and origins; document and enter sightings into IveGot1/EDDMaps
