After nearly three years away from solo exhibitions, Robert Hightower returns with his most personal body of work to date. Each one traces back to moments where Robert learned to stay quiet, often through force, fear, or the belief that speaking up came with consequences.

The title itself is rooted in truth. “One Time Talker” was the name of a wooden paddle used as discipline in his childhood, a tool that made it clear: you only get told once. That legacy of silence lingers in the work, but so does the resistance. This isn’t a tidy comeback. It’s raw, unfiltered, and urgent.
