One Missed EMI, One Ruined Score - What You Need to Know
Easy, instant digital loans can seem like a convenient solution—but what happens when borrowing starts to spiral into a debt trap?
Moneylife Foundation invites you to an important discussion on digital loans, debt traps and credit scores, with insights into the real cost of “no paperwork, instant loans” and how easy access to credit can affect your financial life.
Aparna Ramachandra, Founder-Director of Rectify Credit, will explain the hidden costs and consequences of instant loans, how debt problems escalate, and how social-media algorithms are designed to draw borrowers towards easy credit.
Moneylife Foundation has also conducted a detailed study of digital lending. Tyuish Agarwal, a student at NALSAR University of Law and researcher and author of the Foundation's study Digital Credit Without Limits, will present its key findings and what they reveal about the risks of high-cost and multiple digital loans. The study has been shared with regulators.
The session will conclude with an open Q&A and discussion moderated by Sucheta Dalal, Founder-Trustee, Moneylife Foundation, giving participants an opportunity to raise questions and discuss their concerns.
