About this Event
About the Gathering
Join us for an uplifting afternoon of shared song and community. This gathering is an invitation to come together in joyful harmony - whether you’re a seasoned singer or simply love to sing. Everyone is welcome! Led by Shams Ahmed, an Emmy-award-winning musical director, we'll learn a song together, culminating in a video and audio recording of our collective performance. With over 100 participants, you won’t be expected to sing in small groups or solo. This event is all about the joy of participation, the power of music, and the connections we create through shared experience.
Bring your voice, your energy, and your enthusiasm.

About Shams
Shams Ahmed is an Emmy Award-winning producer, music director, and arranger based in Los Angeles. A graduate of Northeastern University, where he directed a cappella heavy hitters The Nor’easters, he has built a career at the intersection of music, storytelling, and community-building.
He made history as the first Bangladeshi-American to win an Emmy Award for Music Direction for his work on Ragged Old Flag: An American Chorus for Super Bowl LVII. As a co-founder of the pop/R&B group Citizen Queen, alongside Ben Bram and Scott Hoying, Shams helped the group secure a record deal with RCA and prepare for their first full-length album. He is also the visionary behind Acapop!, a groundbreaking music brand for children, which made waves on America’s Got Talent and The Kelly Clarkson Show. His vocal production credits include Invincible, and a bold English/Hindi crossover in collaboration with Pentatonix.
About The Marmalade Project
Sweetening Life through Creativity and Community.
The Marmalade Project is all about cultivating community and creativity in the most refreshing, joyful, and authentic ways. Through our events, we bring together people of all backgrounds and ages to connect, create, and share in the uplifting power of the arts. Much like making marmalade, we believe in taking time to slow down and enjoy the process, allowing moments of creativity to bloom and foster a sense of belonging. The end product is an experience that is rich, vibrant, and joyful! We believe that art should be fun, accessible, and inclusive, and we're here to spark that playful energy in every gathering. Join us in celebrating the sweetness of connection.
