One County One Book: Taste Makers. Two Events. See Below for details.

The Ventura County Library Foundation (VCLF) is pleased announce that this year's One County One Book title is Taste Makers; Seven Immigrant Women Who Revolutionized Food In America. The VCLF, in conjunction with CSU Channel Islands, has planned an exciting event for November 12, 2022. This event will take place in the CSUCI Grand Salon.

This event has two components. The author, Mayukh Sen, has agreed to meet with us in person to discuss his book. The author presentation will take place at 2pm. followed by a book signing. This event is free of charge but we ask that you register at Eventbrite: OCOB.tastemakers.eventbrite.com

At 12 noon there will be a VIP Passport event during which the chef at CSUCI will prepare ethnic dishes for us to sample. The cost for this VIP Passport event will be $75. These Taste makers will include:

Chef Tim Kilcoyne, Director Chef Operations, World Central Kitchen, recently returned from Lviv, Ukraine

Tami Chu, Editor & Publisher Edibles Ventura & Ojai, food blogger

Chef Adam Hart, former instructor Le Cordon Bleu, currently Lead Faculty Oxnard College Culinary Arts

Masha Rumer, Bay Area author of immigrant traditions

Monica White, CEO & President Food Share, Ventura County

Covid Information:

Proof of vaccination will not be required for attendees.

Masks will not be required for attendees, though they are strongly encouraged.

Masks will be made available for all attendees.
