One Act Double Feature TEEN - Showcase Performance

The Ghostlight Stage Company is bringing back our One Act Double Feature again for it's fourth year in a row...and this year with an educational component! Join us Monday November 9 as we present our first ever "One Act Double Feature: TEEN Edition," piloted in partnership with Roger Bacon High School. Students will be receive mentorship from professional theater artists and workshop 2 original one act plays: In Magnificent Glow by J Evelyn Deaton and Waiting for Laura by Benjamin Miller-Jones & Justin King.
Ghostlight's One Act Double Feature event is unique in that it is a hybrid between a typical staged reading and a full production, and we are doing this same process with Roger Bacon's theater students! They will have a short 2 week rehearsal process that concludes with performances for the public at the end (culminating in a special showcase performance at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park). Student directors will speak during the performance about how the play could continue on in its development to give the audience a better idea of what the production would look like on a full scale. The event will "pull back the curtain" for audiences to show them what all goes into the process of developing new work, while also giving students the valuable experience of mentorship from professional artists, and the experience of workshopping a new play.
More about the new works:
In Magnificent Glow by J Evelyn Deaton
Synopsis: Slice-of-life scenes at a prestigious summer theatre training program for high schoolers, and the coming of age of four of them.
Waiting for Laura by Benjamin Miller-Jones & Justin King
Synopsis: While waiting to interview the iconic actress, Laura Dern, two friends discover they aren’t on the same page when it comes to their approach - which turns out to have dire consequences.
Cast and creative team to be announced shortly.
