Oncology Hair Care Education | Professional Training for Hairstylists
About this Event
Oncology Hair care Education | Professional Training for Hairstylists
Hair loss is one of the most emotionally visible effects of cancer treatment — and hairstylists are often the first professional a person turns to when it begins.
This training equips you with the knowledge and compassion to show up for those clients with confidence.
What You’ll Learn
- How different cancer treatments effect the hair and scalp
- How to guide clients through shedding, shaving, and regrowth — at every stage
- Communication skills to support clients through one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
Who This Is For
Licensed hairstylists and cosmetologists who want to expand their practice into one of the most meaningful areas of care available to them.
Why It Matters
A client navigating cancer doesn’t stop needing their hairstylist —they need them more. This training gives you the tools to be a steady, skilled, compassionate presence when it counts most.
Upon completion, you’ll be recognized as an Oncology Aesthetics Trained Stylist — a distinction that sets your business apart and signals to clients that you’re ready to meet them where they are.
Who is Teaching
The course was created and being taught by Jeanna Doyle Ruhl, the author of WigED. Jeanna is a perfect partner to the foundation and is a licensed cosmetologist with over 15 years in oncology aesthetics space working directly with patients and academic cancer hospitals.
A Few Things to Know Before You Arrive.
We’re here to learn together —and that works best when everyone feels welcome. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and your kindness. If something isn’t clear, ask. That’s exactly what this time is for.
How to Get the Most Out of Today.
- Come open. Whether you’re refining skills you’ve had for years or picking up something entirely new, there’s something here for you.
- Be present. The more you’re in it, the more you’ll take away. Put the to-do list on pause for a few hours.
- Review after. A quick look at tour materials after class is one of the simplest wats to make what you learned stick.
- Keep practicing. Skills grow through repetition. Volunteer opportunities are a meaningful way to practice — and to give back to clients who truly benefit from your care.
