Once Upon a Time Year 5 & 6 Creative Writing Workshop

This workshop teaches Year 5 & 6 primary students the core elements of effective storytelling through a focus on fairy tales, and the use of drama activities to actively perform, share and think about ideas.

Throughout the workshop, students will:

• Learn narrative structure and the conventions of the fairy tale genre.
  
• Practice generating ideas for characters, complications and settings.
  
• Practice the key rule of “show not tell” and how it can be used to describe characters and situations.
  
• Gain confidence sharing their ideas and presenting in front of a group.
