ONCE UPON A TIME - A Poetry Showcase

Come out for an afternoon of fun as we listen to original poems and pieces from the MYx3 poetry club! They worked hard on Saturday June 12th, exploring their 5 senses which awakened their descriptive awareness.

Immediately following the showcase, we will have a BBQ with tons of activities and games for the kids to enjoy Junetheenth and Father's Day weekend.

Event Schedule: 

11:30am - PERFORMERS CHECK-IN  

12:00 - 12:30pm - Ice Breaker Game 

12:30 - 1:30 - Showcase 

1:30 - 4:00pm - BBQ, Water balloon fight, Father's Day cards, Table/Station activities.

Performers Instructions:

Performers should:

1. Decide on the story they want to tell. It can be about anything. 

2. Be Creative! We want to hear, touch, taste, smell and see everything. 

3. Write it down - type it up - memorize it 

4. Practice, Practice, Practice (ie in the mirror, in-front of friends/families, ect) 

5. Give your poem/piece a title (This can be done at any time) 

6. Invite your friends/families to come hear you perform!
