Normally, there are 12 full moons per year. Because our Gregorian calendar is not perfectly aligned with the lunar calendar, once every 2.7 years there is an extra full moon. The second full moon to appear in one month is the “blue moon.” Prior to the 1940's, “blue moon” was used to describe rarity and absurdity.
At Chaos & Crystals, we adore rarity and absurdity, we also adore the moon, so join us for an informal evening esbat and mini market, to gather with the community for celebration and socialization in honor of the May 2026 Blue Moon!
