About this Event
What if cultivating our spirit together can save the world? You are warmly invited to visit the exhibition On The Way To Wonder and ponder upon this question
It is an installation from solo intuitive drawings, soft sculptures made in duo, and a collective experience, a participatory performance: The Ritual of Embrace. This mystical experience welcomes primal forces such as rhythmic movement, breathing, voicing, and playful interactions through soft creatures. Here the individual and collective aspects are equally reinforced.
Both artists find the embodied forms of knowledge, intuition, and the power of consciousness essential to form connections within us, between each other, and with the environment. They feel the urgency to explore and nourish them in the current times. The times in which polarisation resulted in another wave of planetary crisis: the split of body, mind, and soul, nature and culture, individual and collective. In this work, they deepen their art practice of creating affirmative spaces of connection. Also, they explore how accessing consciousness and opening up awareness and trust can be facilitated in artistic practice and the role of the embodied approach within it.
Public program:
5 September, 18:30-20:00 - The Ritual of Embrace
15 September, 16:00-18:00 - Pien Vrijhof interactive presentation

DAY Collective is an artist duo consisting of Dorota Radzimirska and Yulia Ratman, based in Amsterdam. Their artistic research involves participatory performances and installations from soft sculptures and intuitive drawings. It manifests the power of consciousness and aims to cultivate spirit. In the participatory performances, they apply embodied interactions with people and the environment; having intimate wordless experiences. Everyone is welcome to join them. In the installations, people are invited to interact with soft sculptures, sit, lie, or hug them, and contemplate the drawings. Both in performances as well as in installations, the narrative evolves during the process, from within. It intends to activate the senses, intuition, and imagination. In this way, a new connection with yourself, others, and the environment can be awakened.
