"Remember their names; you’re going to hear them an awful lot." - Theatreview

Three wanderers are stuck in a rut. Still.
They’ve been trying and failing to write a sketch show for… ever?
Yeah, that's good! They're stuck in Purgatory! Caught in a loop of chaos and creation. As their relationship begins to deteriorate, so too does the show - threatening their fragile existence. But can they escape? And how? And if they do escape… where will they go? Heaven? Hell? Your place?
The trio soon discover they must put their differences aside and discover their true purpose if they’re to escape.
Their purpose: find their purpose.

On Purpose is the latest offering from Tāmaki Makaurau-based Time Shivers Productions; a Brechtian, absurdist piece of sketch comedy that received rave reviews on its debut at Basement Theatre in August of 2026. Be sure to catch this break-neck-paced existential extravaganza on its reincarnation at Q Theatre.
Written, Directed, Performed: Lachie Oliver-Kerby, Aidan O'Malley, Oscar Fitzgerald
Lighting Design: Michael 'Skippy' Goodwin
Music & Sound Design: Lachie Oliver-Kerby

"As enjoyable as any theatre work I have experienced in my lifetime... You’ll see nothing more satisfying or beautifully put together — an intelligent, energetic romp through comedy." - Theatreview
"This willingness to experiment is the show’s greatest strength. Time Shivers are not afraid to ask uncomfortable questions… they treat these questions as playgrounds, exploring them with humour, discomfort and occasional sincerity... Their timing is sharp, their rapport effortless and their ability to pivot between tones impressive." - Blackguard Media
"On Purpose takes one of comedy’s oldest and most persistent questions and stretches it across time, building towards an answer that is far cleverer, and stranger, than expected. This show will keep my brain humming for the rest of the week." - In Attendance
