On Budget Day...........RALLY FOR WELFARE JUSTICE
* Protect pensioners' winter fuel allowance
* Scrap the two child benefit cap
* Stop council cuts
* Tax the rich - don't squeeze the poor
Many have been shocked and disappointed by the new Labour government’s decision to end winter fuel allowances for most pensioners. Even before the election Labour made it clear that it would keep the two child benefit cap, one of the big factors in growing child poverty. We need a welfare system that looks after the vulnerable and provides a proper safety net, but we will only get it if we campaign for it and keep pressurising the government. Join the rally on Budget Day to demand a fair and just welfare system.
