The Omni Movement presents its first weekly progressive zouk class series in Oakland, California! The month of February will kick off with Track A of Level 1 and Level 2 courses with local instructors, Imaan Taghavi & Julie Meng.? Level 1: Zouk Foundations
? Learning Outcomes: After Level 1, students will be able to comfortably complete a Zouk social dance with footwork, body awareness, and partner connection.
? Description: In Level 1 Track A, we will dive deep into 5 core footwork patterns present in virtually every zouk social dance: basic in place, frente e tras (traveling basic), viradinha, lateral, and simple turn. This course covers an introduction to body awareness, partner connection, and the mechanics of the zouk step.
? Level 2: Zouk Expansion
? Learning Outcomes: After Level 2, students will become more creative in zouk social dances with additional techniques unique to the zouk experience in their toolbox.
? Description: In Level 2 Track A, we will break down the movements that make up the zouk bonus technique and use it in the context of foundational zouk patterns covered in Level 1. This course covers traveling turns, the application and efficiency of body torsion, and linear travel.
?Requirements to Join Level 2: In order to participate in Level 2, you are required to have competency of the Zouk basic, viradinha, elastico, lateral, and simple turn.

Each course is a 4 week series with 1 hour classes on Thursdays starting Feb 3rd.
Level 2: 7pm
Level 1: 8pm
The Omni Lab Practica: 9pm
