Omar’s Sunday Soiree: Fiddles, Strings and Stories - 3 month ResidencyFiddler and studio multi-instrumentalist Omar Ruiz-Lopez (Violet Bell) is launching a 3-month residency and series of shows at The Artscenter starting January 5, 2025, continuing February 16th and March 23rd. Following a period of recording and playing with several acts in Nashville, this will be a homecoming of sorts, celebrating the richness of the Triangle roots music scene.
Joined by a different backing band, each show will have its own theme and sound.
The February 16th show features Eric Hirsh (Orquesta Gardel, The Beast, piano) as opener and Jennifer Curtis as a collaborator. Omar is joined again by NC favorites, Mike Devito (Magic Tuber Stringband) on upright bass and Gabe Anderson (Sleepy Cat Records) on percussion.
