Om and Friends present an evening devoted to the rich, introspective world of Johannes Brahms, featuring two of his most profound and intimate works.At the heart of the program is the Double Concerto in A minor, Op. 102, Brahms’ final orchestral composition—here reimagined in a chamber setting with string sextet. Written as a gesture of reconciliation, the work unfolds as a deeply personal dialogue between violin and cello, brought to life by Graeme Norris (violin) and Jonathan Weigle (cello). Their musical exchange blends virtuosic interplay with moments of tenderness, nobility, and quiet reflection. In this intimate arrangement, the orchestral textures are distilled into a transparent, conversational tapestry, drawing listeners closer to the emotional core of the music.
Complementing this is the radiant String Sextet No. 1 in B-flat Major, Op. 18, a work of youthful warmth and lyrical abundance.
