OLIVER PINDER
Oliver Pinder writes songs so things don’t disappear.
Born in Queensbury, Bradford and now based in Wakefield, the Yorkshire songwriter creates guitar driven alternative music rooted in memory, grief and release. His songs feel like late night confessions, moments caught just before they slip away, built for headphones, long drives and rooms full of people screaming the same words back at him.
After losing his dad at the age of 12, Oliver began paying closer attention to the small details most people overlook, half finished conversations, quiet rituals, fishing trips to Scotland and weekends spent at a static caravan by the coast. Music became a way of holding onto those moments, not to preserve them perfectly, but to remember how they felt. Writing songs became less about performance and more about documentation, a way of turning chaos into something survivable.
What began as intimate, dark indie folk songs written alone in his bedroom has grown into something louder, heavier and more communal. Oliver’s sound now channels those same emotions into cathartic, guitar led alternative anthems, drawing comparisons to Bleachers, Wunderhorse and Phoebe Bridgers. His live shows have become shared release points, sweaty, emotional gatherings where heartbreak, nostalgia and anxiety are shouted out in unison and left behind.
Since releasing his debut EP Potential, I Guess?, supported by BBC Radio 6 and BBC Introducing, Oliver has built a fiercely loyal following, selling out headline shows and performing at festivals including The Great Escape, Barn on the Farm and Humber Street Sesh, before headlining Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club to over 370 fans.
In November, Oliver released his second EP too late to tell you, marking a defining moment in his career. The record became his first vinyl release and was celebrated with an intense, self driven run of 16 shows across 11 days, travelling over 2,000 miles up and down the UK. The tour felt less like promotion and more like a moving confession, taking the songs directly to the people who had grown up alongside them, night after night, city after city.
Looking ahead, 2026 will see Oliver release his third EP, a crucial stepping stone toward his debut album, slated for 2027. This next chapter promises his most expansive and emotionally direct work yet, continuing to push his sound into heavier, bolder territory without losing the honesty that defines him.
At the heart of Oliver Pinder’s music is a simple belief, some feelings deserve to be written down. His songs act as a living record of love, loss and catharsis, a place listeners can recognise themselves, feel understood and leave a little lighter than they arrived.
