Oliveira/Belfiglio Group

Led by guitarist/composer Paulo Oliveira and pianist/composer Anthony Belfiglio, the Oliveira/Belfiglio Group performs a diverse variety of jazz music, including compositions by Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Kenny Garrett, and Wayne Shorter to name a few. To round out their repertoire, the group also mixes in some Brazilian music, Latin-jazz standards, straight-ahead standards, and original compositions.

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Paulo Oliveira has won numerous awards for his guitar playing in Brazil and the United States. He has performed with the Missouri Symphony, and many renowned jazz artists such as Christian McBride, Jimmy Greene, John Clayton, Randy Brecker, Sean Jones, and Mike Manieri. He is a professor of music at Belmont University, where he coordinates the guitar department.

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Anthony Belfiglio has released six full-length albums as a leader, including his most recent effort Love Each Other, a trio album available on bandcamp.com. He has performed with the Nashville Symphony, and many renowned jazz artists such as Danny Gottlieb, Duffy Jackson, Gene Perla, Chester Thompson, Branford Marsalis, Kenny Garrett, and Steve Turre. He is a professor of music at Belmont University, where he founded and directs the Belmont Faculty Jazz Group.

Both artists draw from their rich musical backgrounds and diverse interests to create inspiring music that is firmly rooted in the jazz tradition, though it yet remains fresh and open to new possibilities.

Please try to arrive 15 minutes prior to the show start time. If you do not arrive within 45 minutes after the show start time on your ticket your seat may be resold to other patrons at the door. If you arrive after 45 minutes from the start time of the show and your ticket has been resold, although we cannot guarantee it, we will try our best to make space for you to attend the show.
