Welcome to the first Old World narrative event at the End Games!
Huldra Heydrich, Merchant-Princess of the Borderlands calls on all friends of the Empire, reason, and of gold to aid her in the defense of Black Fire Pass. Civrit the Drifting has made dark deals with vile creatures and brutal warlords to take the pass for unknown reasons. The evil wizard plans most likely only death for the good people of the Empire, and the destruction of Huldra's lucrative trade routes. All who aid will receive glory and gold!
The narrative event will be split into two teams based on either the Forces of Fantasy or Ravening Hordes.
If one team has more players than the other we will either choose players at random to be "mercenaries" for the side with less players or players can choose to join another side as a "mercenary".
Lists for forces can be anywhere between 1000 to 3000 points, with players deciding before each battle how many points they will be using. This is to allow new players with small collections the ability to play in the event alongside grizzled veterans of the Old World. When signing up, use your largest point value list.
The event will be split into three different battles played out separately by the players matched up, the positions of attacker or defender will change based on how many wins either team got in the previous battle.
The first battle will be a basic Open Battle.
The second battle will be a caravan ambush, the team that lost the most battles in the first battles will be the attacker. The defending player will set up their army all at once in a marching column in the center of the game board. The attacking player will then set up outside of twelve inches of the center on either side of the game board. The defending player will received VPs if their own units are able to reach one side of the table (the players will to have which is the escape route before set up).
The third battle will be a fort or camp battle, the team that lost the most battles in the second battles will be the defender. The defender will set up in a terrain heavy corner of the game board, three pieces of terrain will be "occupiable" and have "siege weapons" on them that can be fired (these will be bolt throwers, but players can decide amongst themselves if they want to use a different artillery piece from the defending players army book) by a unit occupying the terrain piece (the unit have at least three models to crew the "siege weapon". The attacking player will set up in the opposite corner of the game board, every time the attacking player either takes a piece of terrain with a "siege weapon" on it by occupying it or by destroying the unit operating the "siege weapon" with ranged attacks (thus "destroying" the "siege weapon") the attacking player can return one non-hero destroyed unit from the board edge of the
attacking deployment. The defending player will receive VPs for any "siege weapons" not destroyed or taken and VP for having their general alive at the end of the battle, the attacking player will receive VP for each "siege weapon" taken or destroyed and if the enemy general is killed.
The team that gets the most game wins will declared the winners of Black Fire Pass.
