It's a new practica and we're going Old School! Before festivals, before workshops, before milongas, and before classes, there was simply a practica - friends working with each other to figure out this thing called Argentine Tango. They shared, they practiced, and most of all, they gave each other feedback. They described as best they could a move they saw on a videotape. They gave each other bootlegged copies of music tapes. Classes helped but it was really by working out issues together did they become true tangueros.Old School Practica is designed to encourage this environment of learning and creativity. Of sharing and tolerance. Of volunteerism to grow the community. To encourage the development of new teachers and new DJ's. Hosted by Team Tango - a consortium of Pittsburgh Tangueros, PATangoS, and Friends. Experienced volunteer teachers will guide dancers through issues so that they become the best dancers they can be. Jerry Minshall has been dancing since 2005, while Trini Regaspi has been dancing since 1995. (What were you doing in 1995?) While some things have changed, the need for feedback, experimentation and sharing remains the same. Join us!
