Old 97's are a pioneering alt-country rock band from Dallas, Texas known for their blend of rockabilly, punk, rock and country. Formed in 1992, the band - featuring core members Rhett Miller (vocals/guitar), Murry Hammond (bass/vocals), Ken Bethea (guitar), and Philip Peeples (drums) - gained major label attention after early releases on Bloodshot Records and maintain a strong following amongst their fans through continuing to release new music and touring consistently for more than 30 years.
After a dizzying five-year span that saw the release of two stunning, eclectic albums (Hard Won and Vanity, which drew praise from the likes of Billboard and Rolling Stone) — followed by appearances at AmericanaFest, the Newport Folk Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and SXSW, and tours with Iron & Wine, Son Little, and Adia Victoria — Lizzie No found themselves at the forefront of a new vanguard of genre-defying artists.
