Explore the medium of oil painting with Artist and Arts Educator, Shannon Dickie in this 4 week course.
Starting Tuesday July 14th, come learn about oil painting, colour mixing and creating clouds and water with artist and arts educator, Shannon Dickie. She has a way of setting you up for success and leaving room for your creativity. You will get a small class size with lots of individual attention to problem solve what you are curious to learn in the moment. Join this wonderful course over 4 Tuesday Nights at the beautiful Artist Studio Loft above the Antique Emporium.
Tuesday Summer Evenings 6:30-9pm
July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28, and a makeup class August 11
Day 1 - We will create a Chalk Pastel Sky Drawing exploring colour mixing and similarities of chalk pastels and oil paint as scaffolding for learning about oils.
Day 2 - We will create an 8x8-inch oil painting of clouds exploring colour mixing and the wet-into-wet painting qualities of oils.
Day 3 & 4 - We'll create a10x12-inch painting on wood panel inspired by your own picture of sky and water.
Make-Up Class - I offer a 5th day as a make-up class, in case you can't make it one day.
