Oil Painting 101 Workshop with Gallery Wrightwood

Oil-curious but never known where or how to start? In this class you will learn basic techniques and best practices from teaching artist Casey VanderStel who has been oil painting for 12 years. You’ll leave with experience and knowledge to develop a home oil practice.

Oil painting is a medium you can spend your whole life mastering, so there will only be so much we can teach you in this 1.5 hour class, BUT -- you'll learn about all the items needed to get into oil paints at home, learn some of the most basic techniques, and get to try out the medium yourself on canvas, as well as learn how to clean your brushes!
The class is $15 plus ticket fees to cover the materials provided. You'll leave with some hands on experience and a zine with info about the materials you used in class so you can look into them for yourself at home!
