Oiche Cheoil: A Listening Night of Irish Music and Song
About this Event
Oiche Cheoil literally translates to Irish Music Night. This next installment will be packed with talent with an open call for any musicians interested in sitting in.
This Month's Featured Artists
The Fenian Rams
From Philadelphia and New Jersey, the Fenian Rams bring new life to old songs that tell of the degradation brought to homes by capital and war, and all those rebels around the world that fought for a better world- A world without a slavery, recruiting sergeants, scabs, robber barons, and landlords.
“The Rams”, in remembering the struggles of the past and present, know that we must also find time for the craic, love, love MAKING, and camaraderie. This can be heard in their sets full of ancient love songs, raucous shanties, lively street ballads, and traditional Irish tunes.
With their music, The Fenian Rams aim to inspire those that fight what the Fenian Proclamation of 1867 called the aristocratic locusts and leeches that have “eaten the verdure of our fields” and drain our blood. If not providing the soundtrack of international working class struggle, they hope to at least make it on the mixtape.
