Ohtis live at The Grove

Way back in 2008, when we still listened to music as mp3s rather than via streaming services, a friend of mine in the American midwest sent me an absolutely brilliant album called If This Country Had a Heart That's Where I Was Born by a band called Ohtis. It was a little bit country, a little bit rock 'n' roll, and 100% the kind of stuff I liked (and still like). I messaged them on Myspace (which even back then was alreadly on life support) and asked if they had any plans to tour the UK. They said they did not.
They then dropped off my radar (not because of the UK snub; they pretty much closed shop for 8 years) until 2021 when I was alerted to a new single of theirs on Saddle Creek, with guest vocals by Stef Chura, called Schatze, which easily became my Song of the Pandemic. Irreverent, fun and catchy as hell, Schatze further alerted me to the bands 2019 revival album Curve of Earth - another masterwork, chock full of songs of religious confusion, addiction and recovery. I was delighted that Ohtis were back!
And now it's 2026 and I have the exciting honour of bringing Ohtis to The Grove! Why don't you come along too? :)
