OHS president Jeff Blackadar, together with Master Gardeners Judith Cox and Rebecca Last will describe their efforts to practice sustainable urban agriculture and living.
Jeff will discuss gleaning on greenbelt land and tapping trees to make maple syrup. Judith will introduce us to her “turkey-turned” hügelkultur and “the girls” – chickens Peony, Dahlia and Calendula, who produce multi-coloured eggs. Rebecca will discuss the various ways she uses her small suburban garden to make food, crafts and gifts for friends and family.
--------------------------
This will be our first in-person event since February 2020!
We will be meeting in the main floor hall of St Mark's Anglican Church, 1606 Fisher Ave. There is parking behind the church, off Normandy Cres.
We need to protect the health of people attending the meeting by taking precautions:
Screen yourself for COVID-19 symptoms. Before attending the meeting, please review this questionnaire. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/ If you have symptoms, don't attend the meeting, attend on-line.
Attendees at the meeting must wear a mask at all times. Beverages and snacks won't be served at this time. As we ease back into regular meetings we will resume having snacks in the future. (The presenter may have to remove their mask while presenting for audio clarity.).

The presentation will also be live-streamed to our YouTube channel like our presentations of the last couple of years:
