Every four years on the eve of the Ohio State versus Michigan football game the Best Damn Band in the Land makes a stop in Wood County for a special concert. Proceeds from the event fund scholarships for Wood County youth attending Ohio State and future band members. Where is the concert located?
The concert will be held in the Rossford High School gym, located at: 701 Superior St, Rossford, OH
What time can I get in?
The High School doors will open at 5:30 p.m., the gym doors will open for seating at 6:00 pm and the concert will start at 7:00 p.m. Pre-concert tailgate activities are available within the high school including silent auction items, photo booth and concessions.
Will there be any special guest in attendance?
Ohio State superfan Jon ‘Big Nut’ Peters will be in attendance! There will also be a photo booth where you can get your photo with him, or in front of special OSU backgrounds. For a $5 donation you’ll receive a print and digital copy of the photo, which we encourage you to share on social media to share your buckeye pride.
Can I leave and come back in?
Guests will not be permitted to re-enter the building if they leave the building.
What doors do I enter?
Two entrances will be available for entry. The West doors at the Superior Street circular driveway, and the East door.
Where do I park?
Parking is available in the school lots on either side of the High School. Accessible parking is located at each of these two parking lots. If needed those needing extra assistance can be dropped off at the Superior Street Circular Driveway, which is the main entrance on the right side of the high school. Also, a large parking lot is available across the street from the front east side of the high school at 400 Dixie Hwy. This lot is behind the Rossford Community Recreation Center.
How does seating work?
Seats are general admission, with seating available on the bleachers, on the gym floor, and on the gym mezzanine. Band member parents and sibling ticket holders have a section noted on the gym floor for seating. Sponsors have a reserved seating section on the gym floor.
Will there be food and drink available?
Yes, the Rossford Band Boosters will have snacks and drinks available for purchase.
Do I need to print my ticket?
Tickets are emailed to you once purchased. You can either print your ticket with the bar code or have the confirming email with your barcoded ticket ready. Either can be scanned at the gym door to enter the concert.
Will this be handicap accessible?
Yes. There are limited handicap parking spots available, or attendees can be dropped off at the main entrance at the circular drive on the right side of the high school. When you enter the gym, ask for an usher who can assist you to the handicap seating area.
What will the band perform?
The band will perform music from their halftime shows, along with many traditional buckeye favorites.
