What is a crankie?
Crankies (historically called moving drops or moving panoramas) are a form of visual performance; a scroll of art in a box, which moves across the box as the performer turns a crank. The illustrated scroll is often based on a story or song. Katherine's crankies are all handcut papercut artwork combined with shadow puppetry.
