Ohh bats!!! ASL & Kid Friendly Wildlife Viewing Social.
Every year, during the summer, I like to go out to the Yolo Bypass Wildlife area to watch 250,000+ Mexican Free Tail Bats fly out at dusk. Kid friendly event, important to arrive on time, to get parking and wait for the sunset which starts at 8:15pm. Bats don't follow DST. They will come out at dusk when the sun starts to set. Feel free to bring an umbrella & a camping chair to sit on while waiting. Bring snacks and water.
IMPORTANT!!: Do not park past the gate entering Yolo Wildlife Causeway area, they close at sunset. You will not be able to move your car out while the bats are flying out from under the causeway.
Arrive earlier to secure parking and try to carpool. Limited parking outside of the gate.
See you there!
