O'Hare International Airport Family Night: Flying with Kids 101

Getting ready for a trip with a little one? Chicago O'Hare International Airport is hosting a Family Travel Night on March 10, 2026 and it’s FREE! One learning session will be offered: from 5:00-7:30 p.m.

Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a first-time flyer with kids, this event will be fun and informative to make your next family trip a breeze. Customer experience experts from O'Hare International Airport, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and American Airlines will:

• Share tips on going through security with milk, juice, medications, food pouches, car seats, and strollers.
• Answer questions on checking baby gear as luggage, what counts toward baggage allowance, and gate-checking strollers.
• Guide families through the boarding process and onto the airplane for a tour

Registration required — space is limited. Children are welcome to attend! Throughout the stops there are kids activities and giveaways (stickers, coloring books, refreshments, and more). Don't miss this opportunity to make your travel experience smoother and more enjoyable.

In order to receive a gate pass to go through security and board the plane for the demonstrations, you will need to provide:

• Names for each adult and all minors
• Dates of birth and gender for each adult and all minors
• Phone number
• Email address

Note:

• Registration is limited to families of up to four participants.
• All participants must be registered in advance, including all minors, to receive a gate pass for entry.
• Everyone over age 18 will need to present valid, government-issued identification such as a passport or REAL ID-compliant driver's license or state photo ID card; visit the TSA webpage on Acceptable Identification for a full list.

• All participants will go through security screening and must follow 3-1-1 rules regarding liquids and sharp objects are prohibited; visit the TSA webpage on Traveling with Children for additional information.
