Turquoise is one of the most beloved, varied & imitated stones in the gem world. Much ado is made of mine origin, rarity, folklore and other intangible attributes that inflate its value.
But really what IS turquoise, that glorious gem so beloved that we use its name to describe the color it bears?
Our program will discuss the tangible attributes of "Sky Stone" skipping past the folklore and disregarding the mine origins (or attributions) that cloak turquoise in a fog of intimidating mystery.
Let's take a real look at the real deal, and a few kissing cousins & beautiful imposters too.
This is a program that is best experienced in person, as much of the material discussed will not be perceptible to online viewers.
OGMS has a nice stock of turquoise and related gems to compare and contrast, and some will be available for purchase after the program.
