Please join us as bestselling author and illustrator Jan Brett launches the national tour for her new book, The Christmas Sweater, in Rutland, Vermont on Friday, November 28th! This event will feature a live drawing demonstration!
This ticketed event, and Jan's only stop in Vermont, will take place at The Paramount Theatre, 30 Center Street, Rutland, VT.
The new Christmas classic from Jan Brett, The Christmas Sweater, features an adventurous boy and an adorable pug in a Christmas sweater who saves the day!
With more than 44 million books in print, Jan Brett is one of the nation’s foremost illustrators of children’s books. As a child, she decided to be an illustrator and spent much of her time reading and drawing. As a student at the Boston Museum School, Jan spent many hours in the Museum of Fine Arts. Travel is also a constant inspiration, so with her husband, Joe Hearne, who was a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, she visits many different countries where she researches the architecture and costumes that appear in her work. Jan lives in a seacoast town in Massachusetts.

LOCATION: The Paramount Theatre, 30 Center Street, Rutland, VT 05701
TICKETS: $25. Each ticket includes one unsigned copy of The Christmas Sweater and admission for up to 4 people into the event. Additional copies of The Christmas Sweater and select backlist can also be purchased at the event.
SIGNING LINE: Customers must have purchased a copy of The Christmas Sweater from Phoenix Books to join the signing line.
When you pick-up your book at the event, Phoenix Books will give you a
numbered ticket for the signing line. Numbers will be given out based on the order in which books are picked-up on the day of the event, not in the order which tickets were purchased online.
Jan will do her very best to sign all of the books that time permits. The number of books that Jan can sign per family depends on how many people come to the signing. If time does not permit Jan to sign every book, Phoenix Books will have special signed bookplates featuring Jan’s full-color artwork for all of the extra books.
Additional Event Details:
• Doors open at 4PM. Arrive early!
• Tour Bus: Jan’s tour bus will be parked in front of The Paramount Theatre at 4PM. It’s
wrapped in artwork from The Christmas Sweater. You’re welcome to take a photo next to the bus.
• Meet Hedgie: Hedgie, Jan’s favorite friend from The Mitten and The Hat, will be visiting as well. Please bring the kids to have a photo taken with Hedgie.
• Posters: The first 100 families in line will receive a free signed Jan Brett poster.
