Taking your understanding of the effects of developmental trauma and C-PTSD to a deeper level.

Day 1: Lecture portion that will provide a thorough understanding of the neuroscience involved with human survival and how disruption in safety during childhood can lead to a long-term negative impact throughout adulthood. I will be covering identifying dysregulation of your client as well as yourself during session, triggers and manifestation of trauma on the massage table, intake paperwork considerations, professional boundaries, staying in your scope of practice, using supportive language, body mastery, and your role as a massage therapist during the stages of trauma recovery.

Day 2: Table and experiential exercises including rehearsing intake procedures, proper handling of extremities, facilitating grounding techniques, adapting massage sessions to client’s needs, and a general protocol that integrates Swedish, cranial-sacral, and table Thai hand and foot massage.

*Tuition includes workbooks, Thai massage sticks, and grounding tools
