It may have taken us 25 years but, we finally got Mark Steel! The Sony and Writers’ Guild Award-winning writer and comedian is best known for his critically acclaimed BBC Radio 4 show Mark Steel’s in Town. Mark has presented the BAFTA-nominated Mark Steel Lectures for BBC Two and is a regular on BBC One’s Have I Got News for You and BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz. He has also written several acclaimed books, including: Reasons To Be Cheerful and What’s Going On.

Josh Pugh is an Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated comic. actor and writer. His Channel 4 sitcom ‘Stepping Up’ airs in 2026. Josh has written and appeared on a new sketch show from Mitchell & Webb, as well as on ‘How Are You? It’s Alan (Partridge and upcoming feature film ‘Finding Emily’. Other TV appearances include QI, Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo, Big Fat Quiz of Everything, Would I Lie to You, Hypothetical, Question Team, Unforgivable, Live at the Moth Club and Rosie Jones’s Disability Comedy Extravaganza. Josh was also a host at the Paralympic Games in Paris.
Impressively, Josh has played for England’s Partially Sighted football team for the past ten years and played in three World Championships. He has 50 caps for England.

Ever since Day One we have proudly championed new and emerging talent. For our 25th we have carried that on by booking two of the acts who have impressed us the most on the last couple of years. Jules O’Brian performs around the country, telling anyone who will listen about ageing disgracefully, body hang–ups, parenting, and dating. This former teacher’s relaxed, chatty style, crowd interaction and warmth, all served with a sardonic wit, make her a natural crowd pleaser.
