Off the Beaten Track Vol. 1: “The Revolution Comes In Waves” unites the Polish and Dutch indie music scenes, showcasing some of the most exciting contemporary acts! Off the Beaten Track curates events spotlighting underground European music and experimental arts, with a focus on inclusivity and diverse artists from Poland to southern France.
Meet the artists:
Loveworms (PL) is a fresh post-punk/crank wave band hailing from Gdańsk, PL - and they're all about making sense of and having fun in the post-pandemic, post-brexit world. They met in 2024 and their first record is about to drop Feb'25, to be released by a legendary independent label Antena Krzyku - so they're moving fast and making waves! They've been called "punk with a capital P.", a revelation of Fląder Festival where they debuted, and Poland's response to the UK scene, compared to the likes of Lambrini Girls, Amyl & The Sniffers, Protomartyr, Dry Cleaning, or Sprints.

Bob Billy (NL) is a three-man band: one bassist (Hayo van Dusseldorp) setting the groove, one guitarist (Alexander van der Werff) playing those raw rock sounds, and one singer (Sander Kuit) belting out some melodious lyrics. To tie it all together, they build their own beats. The result? A catchy mix of rock, indie and electronics with just a hint of Depeche Mode and that old-school Beastie Boys-underbelly feeling set to the vibes of a drowsy, Wednesday evening at CBGB’S in the early 90s
Over the years, Bob Billy has played and conquered the stages of Paradiso, the Melkweg, Patronaat, Het Paard, Vera, Dijkpop Festival and many bars in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Being a crowd pleaser, the band is known for its live energy and ability to melt exciting beats and subdued melodies into a natural harmony. Bob Billy lives by the motto: ‘Let’s do a song a day/ record it right away/ play it live on Saturday/ and make a new video/ oh oh oh’.

Izzy and the Black Trees (PL)
From a quiet university city in Western Poland, IZZY AND THE BLACK TREES bring raw punk energy, noisy psych guitar riffs, strong beat and feisty melodies. Founded in 2018 by the singer and band leader Izabela Izzy Rekowska who spent some time in London working-up her songwriting skills prior to forming the four-piece. The second album Revolution Comes In Waves (Antena Krzyku) came out October 2022, received many superb reviews not only in Poland but also abroad in the UK, Germany (OxFanzine 9/10 stars). Rumore magazine (Italy), Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and more! The band was featured on the KEXP show Sonic Reducer run by Brian Foss, Radio X UK and once again on Steve’s Lamacq BBC 6 Music show. Selected as the best Polish rock record of the year 2022 by Teraz Rock magazine. Their live shows are full of feminine, punk and rock'n'roll energy.

Femme Fugazi (NL)
Walking between the boundaries of a manic episode and cathartic possession, where echoing post-punk and hunted garage-punk alternate in a Danse Macabre of contradictions; FEMME FUGAZI is the result of a crime passionel, committed by the love baby of Anne Clark and Amyl and The Sniffers. The band has been playing together since 2022 and has been able to impress many people in a short period of time; they became the second-most booked band of the Popronde (2023), they were at internationally recognised festivals such as Hit The City and Sniester and provided the opening act for (inter)national acts such as MODEL/ACTRIZ and Claw Boys Claw.

Hanba (PL)
In our original vision, HAŃBA ! was a fictional musical narrative where the characters denounce the evils of their world in the 1930s and 1940s: hatred, authoritarianism, social inequalities, militarism, and anti-Semitism. As a "rebel backyard orchestra," we drew on a unique array of urban folk instruments (banjo, accordion, clarinet, bass drum, and tuba) and interwar poems by Polish poets, which became an inexhaustible source of inspiration and themes for us.
In 2024, we performed at the Warsaw Autumn Festival with entirely contemporary material, breaking away from our historical context. It's time to sing about the present, though haven't we always done so?
