Off-Loom Weaving with Jessica Holton

Do you want to learn how to weave, but feel overwhelmed by purchasing a loom? Do you have experiencing with weaving, but want a more portable option? Off-Loom Weaving is a sustainable, affordable, and portable type of fiber arts. In this workshop, participants will learn a brief history about weaving and off-loom weaving. They will discuss the mental health benefits of weaving and creating. They will also develop basic weaving skills, including reading patterns. Participants will begin the warp and weft on two different pieces of basswood (without pegs or grooves) and use tapestry needles as the shuttle. All materials are provided.
