It's no coincidence that I set this event during 🦇 Bat Appreciation Month🦇 the night before 🦇Bat Appreciation Week🦇 I want to raise awareness because Pennsylvania sky puppies need our help! According to the Forest Service, of the 9 species of bats in Pennsylvania, two are on the Federal Endangered Species List and while bats like the Little brown bat and Northern long-eared bat were very prevalent across Pennsylvania at one time. Over 90% of the Little brown bats and Northern long eared bats have now succumbed to white-nose syndrome across Pennsylvania. As you may know, bats fill a very important role in helping to control harmful insect populations, bugs that damage crops as well as bite us humans. PA Bat Rescue is one of the few organizations in the Commonwealth devoted to rehabilitation and conservation of 🦇 bats. I found out they are currently fundraising to expand their facility to meet the needs of Pennsylvania bats. Here's how you can help!
