Guest Speaker: Josiah “Jazz” Watts, SICARS

Born and raised on the Georgia Coast in Glynn and McIntosh counties, Josiah Watts, also known as Jazz, is a St. Simons and Sapelo Island Descendant, Environmental Justice Strategist, Community Activist/ Organizer & a Georgia Commissioner with the Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor. He was a co-founder of the original 'I Run With Maud' Movement that sought justice for the M**der of his younger cousin and Sapelo Descendant Ahmaud Arbery. He is also a founder of the Keep Sapelo Geechee Movement, which mobilized Sapelo organizations to fight detrimental zoning changes to his Historic Gullah Geechee Hogg Hummock community on Sapelo Island.
