Whether you’ve never touched clay before or you’re returning to strengthen your skills, this beginner-friendly course will help you build confidence while creating pottery, you’ll be proud to take home.
You’ll receive personalized instruction in a small class setting, spend three weeks developing your pottery-wheel skills, explore handbuilding and surface design, and finish your work with beautiful studio glazes.
No experience is needed!

Monday Mornings
October 5, 12, 19, and 26

6:00–8:00 PM
Students attend one class each week for five consecutive weeks. Select your preferred schedule during registration.
🏺 WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Week 1—Wheel Foundations
Learn clay preparation, centering, opening, and pulling walls while developing the foundational skills needed for successful pottery.
Week 2—Building Confidence on the Wheel
Continue practicing forms such as cylinders and bowls while improving your control and technique.
Week 3—More Time on the Wheel
Receive another full class of guided wheel practice to strengthen your skills, improve consistency, and work more independently.
Week 4—Handbuilding and Surface Design
Explore slab, coil, and pinch construction while learning to add handles, attachments, textures, and decorative details.
Week 5—Glazing and Finishing
Complete your pottery using professional studio glazes and learn how glazing transforms your finished pieces.
✨ OPEN PRACTICE TIME INCLUDED
After completing your first class, you may practice whenever the studio is open at no additional charge.
Open practice gives you extra time to build confidence and improve your wheel skills between classes.
Please note:
• Open practice is self-guided
• An instructor may not always be available
• Wheels and studio equipment are available on a first-come, first-served basis
🔥 FIRING YOUR POTTERY
Students may create as many practice pieces as they would like throughout the course.
A $5 firing fee applies to each finished piece you choose to keep. This fee covers both the bisque and glaze firings. Large or specialty pieces may require an additional firing fee.

📌 REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
• Five or more days before the course begins: Full refund minus a 5% processing fee
• Three to five days before the course begins: 50% refund or full studio credit
• Within 48 hours of the course beginning: No refunds or studio credits
• Same-day cancellations may transfer one time for a $25 transfer fee, subject to availability
• Missed classes are non-refundable but may be made up if space is available
• If the studio cancels a class, a full refund or studio credit will be issued
