Our next "Music & A Meal" House Concert will be with Shelley King on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Doors at 5pm, music at 6pm.
What is a Hummingbird Backyard House Concert?
It is a concert that happens in my backyard on a monthly basis. The requested donation of $25 goes directly to the musicians. I prepare a meal that you can enjoy prior to the concert and you can contribute if you'd like. This is a “listening” environment. There will be time before, after, and in between sets to socialize/mingle and buy merch from our musician.
Things to bring: a comfortable chair (there are plenty of extras), practical shoes (because this is my wooded backyard, I don’t recommend sandals due to Fire Ants, Scorpions, and other outdoor creatures), mosquito spray, a light jacket, an umbrella (if it looks like it might drizzle). Please don't bring your pets. This is non-smoking.

About our Musician: Shelley King
Shelley King is royalty in Texas and the first woman to be appointed Official State Musician of Texas by the legislature. In addition to being a multi-award winning singer-songwriter-bandleader, King is known for her soulful vocals and powerful performances. Madam Mystic is her 10th independent release!
Shelley King's decades-long journey in the music industry has been on her terms. Throughout her career, Shelley King has taken on the roles of songwriter, band leader, studio producer, owner of her own label and publishing company, to self-release all of her work. Her talent, energy, commitment to the craft, and service to the community led her to be recognized by the Texas Legislature and appointed Official Texas State Musician. She’s won several Austin Music Awards, and had her songs recorded by several internationally known musicians. Her relentless touring efforts, determination and unwavering belief in writing good songs and delivering powerful performances has taken her all over the world where she has built a strong national and international following.
For the meal portion of the event:
Our meal will be a variety of different Chili's (Texas Chili, Pumpkin Chili, Chicken Chili, and a vegetarian option). If you plan to join us for our meal, a $5-10/person donation toward meal costs is requested, Venmo or Paypal @tlmiller30. Feel free to bring along a dish if you'd like.
