Let's celebrate the return of our weekly group rides with more rides plus a barbeque!
About this Event

Freewheel Cycle is celebrating its 30th year AND the return of our weekly group rides. And what better way to commemorate than with bike rides and a barbeque!

On Sunday October 2, we will be concurrently running special weekend editions of our 3 group rides: Dirt Girls Women's all-levels MTB ride, Travel By Gravel ride, and Thursday Night Intermediate MTB ride. All the rides will finish up at the Freewheel's back parking lot for a delicious barbeque by our neighbours The Burnt Tongue. Yum!

How It Works:

NOW: Buy your $15 ticket for your favourite flavour of ride. This nominal fee helps us know how many burgers to buy! (Want to skip the ride but attend the bbq? See below!)

DAY OF: Arrive at 1:30pm to check-in and get your refreshment ticket. Please utilize street parking as we will be partying in the back parking lot. All 3 rides, (Dirt Girls, Travel By Gravel, and Thursday Intermediate MTB) will be rolling out at 2pm sharp for their respective rides in beautiful Dundas Valley.

Each ride will aim to return to Freewheel's parking lot for 5pm for a delicious barbeque by our neighbours The Burnt Tongue. Their delicious fare will be burgers and delectable salads. We'll have a great selection of refreshments and desserts.

Not riding? Or want to have your family join afterwards for the barbeque? There is a "food only" ticket.

WHAT TO BRING: In addition to the usual accoutrement you are used to bringing for our weekly group rides, you may wish to bring a change of clothes, your camp chair. Bonus points for bringing your own reusable plate, cutlery and cup.

PARKING: We're partying in our parking lot so, rather obviously, please utilize the nearby street parking, municipal lots, and Dundas Driving Park.

WEATHER: This event will run rain-or-shine, with the rides modifying as conditions dictate (ie, doubletrack). If the weather is truly abysmal, we will move the party indoors and recount tall tales and make a toast to the season. All ticketholders will be advised via email.

KARMA: All proceeds from this event will be donated to our local trail heros, Hamilton Burlington Mountain Biking Association.
