Oceanique live at The Coda
"Australian folk duo Oceanique bring their captivating harmonies and heartfelt songwriting to the stage at The Coda in Victoria, BC on July 16 as part of their 2026 Canadian Summer Tour.
Comprised of twin sisters Maddy and Jess Houston, Oceanique have quickly emerged as one of Australia’s most exciting folk acts. Their sound blends intimate storytelling with rich, seamless harmonies, drawing comparisons to artists like First Aid Kit and The Staves. Inspired by the landscapes of their Western Australian home, their music carries a sense of warmth, space, and emotional depth that resonates deeply with audiences.
Following a breakthrough year that included an official showcase at Folk Alliance International in Montreal and a critically acclaimed sophomore album, Skylines, Oceanique return to Canada with a powerful and refined live show. Their performances are known for their honesty, connection, and stunning vocal interplay, equally suited to attentive listening rooms and festival stages alike.
With accolades including Port Fairy Folk Festival’s Emerging Artist of the Year (2024) and Folk Alliance Australia’s Youth Artist of the Year (2022), Oceanique continue to build international momentum as a must-see act on the global folk circuit.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, with the performance running from 6:30–8:30 PM. Audiences can expect an intimate evening of beautifully crafted songs, soaring harmonies, and stories that linger long after the final note."

Joining Oceanique at The Coda is Mikayla Menzies!
Victoria-based singer-songwriter Mikayla Menzies conjures a slow-burning tension between vulnerability and unwavering fortitude. Blending a pop/alternative atmosphere with poetic sincerity, her music drifts through swirling synths and glimmering guitar lines as she weaves together her experiences in a screaming truth.
Known for writing unapologetically about her inner world, Menzies explores themes of mental health, grief, and resilience, transforming personal experiences into songs that feel both intimate and universal. Currently based on Vancouver Island on Canada’s West Coast, she is preparing to release a new EP that continues to navigate life’s bittersweet waves while reminding listeners that even in chaos, there is still music to be found in colour.
