Welcome to Oceanic Literacy Day at The Open Book, Topanga!
Dive into a world of knowledge and exploration as we celebrate our oceans and the creatures that call them home. In collaboration with The Open Book, The Persaud Foundation will be holding an Oceanic Literacy Day! We will be having an oceanic storytime for children at 2:30 PM with the book "Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean's Most Fearless Scientist", by Jess Keating. Afterward, we will have a Question & Answer Session about Marine Biology & Science Communication, in which children can discuss any questions that they may have about marine life, & any questions that they may have about entering the field. We shall also be reviewing our shark education fact cards, each of which features a new & interesting shark fact on it!
We will also be handing out Stickers, Pins, & Shark Education Fact Cards while supplies last! If you decide to purchase any books & mention our nonprofit, 20% of your purchase will be donated to us.
This event is completely free, all that we ask is that you register for it. Whether you're a marine enthusiast or just curious about the underwater world, this event is perfect for all ages & families.
